Newborn Diaper Trial Results: Tots Bots Teeny Fit

Kicking off week three of the newborn diaper trial results is the Tots Bots Teeny Fit All in One newborn diaper.  I had a lot of fun picking out these diapers because they have some of the cutest patterns and a lot of gender neutral options (we don't find out the gender before birth). I had also heard a lot of good things about the teeny fit diaper so I was excited to try it.

I conducted the newborn diaper trial exactly the same as my normal diaper trial with the exception of how I logged the leaks.  Overall I would say that the newborn diapers I used leaked more often than the one size diapers I have tried in the past.  For that reason I decided to track the severity of the leak to give the results a little more color.  With each leaks I ranked them from one to five with one representing a tiny leak that you might not even change their clothes for and a five being soaked.  Now for the results of the Tots Bots Teeny Fit:

Number times of uses: 14
Number of leaks: 6
Longest wear without a leak: 3 hours
Average severity of leaks: 1.5
Big Booty factor – 2

Pros:
·      Tots Bots hook and loop is great and helps get a good fit for the waist
·      Attached soaker makes laundry easy and dries quickly
·      Lots of great print options that are gender neutral

  Cons:
·      Does not have an umbilical snap or rise snaps
·      The most expensive newborn diaper I purchased at $21.95 each

This diaper performed pretty consistent with the other newborn diapers that I tried out so overall it did pretty good.  I love how cute they are but since they don't have rise snaps they fit for a much smaller window.  The legs did not fit until around 7 pounds and even then the tabs were completely crossed over.  I couldn't use these on my son right away but I knew that they would be a solid diaper once they did start fitting and I would grab for these frequently.  They also have a pretty generous rise so they did fit for longer than some other newborn diapers.

The pictures below are when Lachlan was 2 weeks old and about 6.5 pounds.  The fit on the legs was a little loose. You can see the rise is up over his belly button so it wouldn't work until the umbilical cord falls off.

The next set of pictures I took were at 1 month old (5 weeks) and he was 9 pounds, 4 ounces.  The legs fit well at this weight and age and the tabs no longer cross over but do still meet (this print is Wimblebum and I LOVE it!).

At 2 months old, my son was 11 pounds 2 ounces and 23 inches long.  The fit here is great as its just below his belly button and there is still plenty of room in the waist.  I love hook and loop for a newborn because it helps the fit so much.  I actually continued to use the teeny fits until about 2.5 months old when he finally outgrew the absorbency.

Overall the Tots Bots Teeny Fit were some of the cutest and squisheiest newborn diapers that I tried and they also were very absorbent.  I liked this diaper so much that I look forward to trying out an Easy Fit and putting it through the trial in the future!
